Testimonials about Y.A.L.E. School Audubon

Tina A.

Parent

“Y.A.L.E. School is fabulous! Since my son started at the age of six, all of his teachers and the staff have been wonderful. They have helped my son excel to higher levels and to work well with the other children. I love the school.”

Cheryl M.

Parent

“My son has thrived behaviorally and academically over the last couple of years. Thank you for teaching my son many, many things beyond what other programs offer.  Most of all, thank you for showing your love and compassion for our kids each and every day!”

Donna L.

Parent

“Finding Y.A.L.E. was like winning the lottery. Our 8-year-old son is now being educated in a safe environment where he is recognized as the UNIQUE individual that he is. Placing him into this ABA-based program halfway through second grade was the best decision we ever made. He is achieving goals at such an amazing pace! Kudos to the Audubon staff. What you have done for our son and and our family is like a dream come true. Thanks for being part of our extended family!”

Daniel W.

Parent

“Y.A.L.E. is largely responsible for saving a “lost child”. George was floundering at his public middle school, both academically and socially. He has become indiscernible from any typical child, thanks to Y.A.L.E.!”

Jean R.

Parent

“Y.A.L.E. has changed not only my son’s life but my life as well. The changes in my son are immeasurable. For years, just getting him to school was a challenge. Every day was a battle. Today, after only a few months, he gets on the bus daily, without challenge and looks forward to his school day. He participates in gym including being goalie for hockey and even attempting basketball! Despite many years of encouragement he had never participated or engaged in any sport or athletic event before.  (more…)

“I have consulted at Y.A.L.E. School’s Audubon campus for three years. During that time, I have found the staff to be committed, professional and able to teach autistic students with specific strategies designed to maximize the acquisition of appropriate behaviors, as well as improve academic skills. I have seen the academic improvement specifically using direct instruction.”

Fallon D.

“A few weeks ago I visited the Green Tech Lab in Cherry Hill with my mom to observe my brother, Zachary D.  We arrived at Green Tech prior to the students’ arrival.  As the students were approaching the building, Zachary had a meltdown on the bus ride.  Several staff members were needed to assist Zachary in order to calm him before entering Green Tech. We waited inside with Mr. James who updated us towards Zachary’s status.  The staff handled the situation in a way that left an impression on me even days after this occurred.  They did this so calmly, professionally, and reliably, that I could tell that they all knew exactly how to handle this kind of situation.  I was extremely impressed and I felt so secure knowing that my brother has great teachers like these.  Zachary is so blessed to be going to such an amazing school, and I know from that from this experience that he is being led in the right direction.  I was in awe over how incredibly they handled a situation like this.  I am so pleased and grateful to know that Zachary is going somewhere every day where he is so deeply cared for and loved.  I also just wanted to thank all of the amazing staff that is taking such good care of my brother.  They all go above and beyond expectations, and are wonderful at what they do.  Thank you so much for letting me witness how great this school is for my brother.”

Regina & Matthew P.

Parents

“My son Matthew has attended Y.A.L.E. School Audubon for the last two years.  The programs are consistent and follow a specific process.  Also along with maintaining skills learned, maintenance is very important to my child’s needs.  Assessments are taken to keep your child in check along with specialist as needed.  Daily activity reports are supplied with detailed information.  Community outings for the kids are engaging.  To see the data and progress is amazing, I have real/true information about my child.  I wish I have moved my son to Y.A.L.E. School sooner, love the communication.”

Madeline T.

Parent

“My son attended Charter school when they noticed he wasn’t learning at the pace the other children were.  The social worker there told me to visit Y.A.L.E. School Audubon and speak to the teachers and staff. Upon arrival, I met with Mr. John Wilson and he told me all the great things about the program. My son went through changes. He was shutting down and he didn’t want to speak to anyone. A couple of days later I decided for him to go to the Audubon campus. I’m so glad I did because this was the best decision for my son. He has flourished. He speaks so highly of everyone there. The teachers and staff are awesome. With the help of these amazing teachers he is reaching his academic goals. Y.A.L.E. School Audubon Rocks!”

“This is our son’s freshmen year and he attends Y.A.L.E. at the Cedar Creek HS campus. We have been very happy so far with the strides that he is making. Our son has mastered some skills that not so long ago were too difficult for him. He’s loving school and the new friends he is meeting!”

Testimonials about Y.A.L.E. School Cherry Hill

Dawn A.

Parent

My son is in his 5th year at Y.A.L.E. School, and I know he wouldn’t be the person he is today without the help of their committed and caring staff. They go above and beyond with the teaching of citizenship, social skills, self-esteem, academics and transition skills. Thank you, Y.A.L.E.!”

DeAnn C.

Parent

Y.A.L.E. School was instrumental in my son’s transitioning back into a public school environment. He felt safe, was able to socialize as well as participate in the sports programs offered. He will be graduating June 2015 with plans on attending college in the fall because of the skills he learned at the Mansfield Twp. & Cherry Hill campuses. Thank you for being a part of my son’s village.”

Diane G

Parent

I am so thankful for the teachers and the staff at Y.A.L.E. School. They GET autism! My son is now blossoming playing sports and building long term friendships. He loves his school and so do I!”

Dorothy G.

Parent

“I am writing to express my deepest thanks and appreciation for everything your school and its staff have done for my grandson. Since he started in September, he has become a different child and student. He no longer says he hates school. He does his homework by himself (which my daughter appreciates), and he no longer claims he is the ‘dumbest kid’ in the entire school. I now believe in miracles! Thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart.”

Tracy H.

Parent

My son started at Y.A.L.E. in middle school and is now in 10th grade.  The transition from middle school to high school was so smooth.  The staff is very helpful and creative with my son’s ever–changing needs.  The life skills course has had such a positive impact and has given him many useful  tools for independence.  Before coming to Y.A.L.E. he was so unhappy,  feeling so misunderstood and out of place.  He is thriving now and even with his ongoing struggles we have the support of the Y.A.L.E. staff who we are so very grateful for.”

Audrey and Robert M

Parents

“Y.A.L.E. School has transformed our son’s quality of life. He finally has a great sense of belonging.”

Deborah M.

Parent

I cannot thank you and the staff at Y.A.L.E. School enough. The change in my son’s attitude regarding school is nothing short of miraculous. He can’t wait to get there in the morning and when he comes home, he is in such a great mood. Even the idea of homework is okay, which has never happened before. He thinks the world of his teachers and the students in his class. I have my happy-go-lucky little man back, and I am eternally grateful for that.”

Pam M.

Parent

“The right classroom environment for a child with Asperger’s can make a world of difference. At Y.A.L.E., our son actually enjoys school, excels academically and has made friends. In the structured supportive school environment of Y.A.L.E., he is learning how to cope with adverse situations, make lasting friendships and gaining a meaningful education.”

Lora R.

Parent

“Y.A.L.E. School’s many facets of creative learning offer education with a refreshing perspective that kids fall in love with. I couldn’t be happier with the program offered by Y.A.L.E. Cherry Hill, from administration to teaching staff.”

Steve S.

Former student

“My previous special education school and my local board of education had already written me off at the age of 8 prior to attending Y.A.L.E. School. Within a year after I finished my time at Y.A.L.E., I was declassified and never turned back! At the Cherry Hill campus I was not only met with support and empathy, but I was given opportunities to flourish athletically, academically, and artistically. All of those traits led to me eventually getting accepted to Rowan University. There is no doubt in my mind that I owe a great part of my success to the four years I spent at Y.A.L.E. in my formative, pre-adolescent years.”

Stella N.

Parent

“My son has been attending the Y.A.L.E. School in Cherry Hill for five years. The teachers, counselors, therapists and administrators at Y.A.L.E. School Cherry Hill are, in my opinion, the best of the best. They have provided many opportunities for my son to grow emotionally, develop academically, and become more self-sufficient, as well as independent. In addition, and perhaps more importantly, my son has developed meaningful relationships with his peers and has become more self-confident.”

“Just the other day as we were celebrating Royce’s 9th birthday I began to think about how far he has come. The Y.A.L.E. School has played a major role in his development. His first few years of school in our district was very tough for him and our family. Once he enrolled at Y.A.L.E. I began to see him change gradually and now, well he’s like a different child. He enjoys being at school, and I enjoy watching him grow. As a parent, one of the things that helped me with the transition to the school was the way the teachers and administration made me feel. I still remember the first conversation I had about Royce’s day. I couldn’t remember if he actually had a problem or incident because of all the positive statements the teacher made and continues to make before mentioning an incident. As a parent, we need to hear the positive. I appreciate that. I also appreciate the time the teachers and administration take to speak to Royce about his ideas for the school. There’s so much he wants to do, they listen and encourage him. With this type of support, I’m sure Royce will reach his highest potential. We’re glad that our son attends the Y.A.L.E. School!”

“Y.A.L.E School Ellisburg has been nothing short of a miracle!  You have truly changed the life of a child who was once depressed with a feeling of not belonging to now a child who goes to bed happy, wakes up happy and even wants to go to school on weekends! Her teacher along with staff are truly the most amazing compassionate “family” who have turned this little girls life around and for this we thank you!”

Christine T.

“Y.A.L.E. is a great place for any child having a hard time.  It is a safe, loving and educational environment that has helped my son tremendously.  The teachers, staff and principal are all genuinely invested in making every child the best they can be.”

Alicia T.

“Since my son started Y.A.L.E., he has overcome a lot of obstacles.  He has grown in many different ways.  The learning is good. It’s a great environment for him to grow.  If you’re looking for a great change, I recommend this school.  This school has great teachers, always concerned about their students.”

Brian K.

Parent

“Since my son, Rodney, has started attending Y.A.L.E. School, he has made some amazing accomplishments.  When Rodney started at Y.A.L.E. School, he could barely write.  He started a year and a half ago.  Rodney is now able to read, write, do mathematics and other subjects.  Before Y.A.L.E. School, Rodney was a completely different person, he was very physically and verbally aggressive.  He very rarely has these behaviors anymore.  He actually went to school for two weeks straight without an incident, which is unbelievable.  He comes home every day with mostly positive reports now.  Y.A.L.E. School has done very well with Rodney and I believe that has a lot to do with the relationship he has with his teacher, Mr. Flancer.  Y.A.L.E. school is the best thing that could have happened to Rodney.  He finally likes to go to school.  Thank you Y.A.L.E. School and staff.”

Mrs. H.

“My husband and I appreciate how Y.A.L.E. School holds our son to a higher standard regarding his school work, his behavior, and his socialization.”

“Since attending Y.A.L.E. School Ellisburg we have seen such improvement in our son.  As a new family to the Y.A.L.E. community the staff at Ellisburg have made us feel very comfortable,  addressed our concerns and provided us with resources.  I am most impressed with their level of professionalism and the determination to help us help our son.”

Brenda G.

“I’ve seen a big difference since my granddaughter has started at Y.A.L.E. School, Ellisburg Campus. She loves this school because she gets along with her peers. She is working in school and saving her money. She has a new outlook on life.”

Last night, my son Mitchell had his first Boy Scout den meeting since before the holiday break. Naturally, the boys were excited to see each other and were all full of energy… While the other boys were running around yelling and chasing each other, my son listened to the leader and was the most well-behaved boy there. This is unprecedented behavior for him and I chalk it up to the instruction at Y.A.L.E. and the reduction in stress and anxiety in his life as a result of the curriculum and homework load. Thank you.”

Tracy M.

Parent

“He was welcomed by Y.A.L.E. staff and all of the students and within the first week I saw such a positive change in him that it brought me to tears.

The field trips, which are part of teaching the children social skills, have been so helpful and his behaviors in public settings have improved greatly.

The staff at Y.A.L.E. is an unbelievable group of very special people who truly care about children and teaching. I have so much respect for what all of you give to this program and I am very grateful for Anthony’s overall progress.”

Allison P.

Parent

My son began attending Y.A.L.E. School Mansfield Township following a disastrous second-grade year in public school. Significant behavioral outbursts were an almost daily occurrence for him in public school; at Y.A.L.E. School they are nonexistent, which is a change I attribute in large part to the school’s innovative behavioral program.

I am thrilled with the high quality academic program at Y.A.L.E. School, including the small class sizes, the individualized instruction and the well-balanced curriculum. But what really distinguishes Y.A.L.E. School is the exemplary teachers. Without exception, the teachers at Y.A.L.E. School are among the very best teachers any of my four children have ever had.”

Patricia and Mark H.

Parents

“Our son’s experiences in public school were extremely stressful, both in self-contained and inclusion settings, exacerbated by the inexperience of teachers and administrators in dealing with children on the autism spectrum. He would have frequent meltdowns.

Since he came to Y.A.L.E. we have seen significant progress in his ability to self-regulate his emotions and behaviors at home, in the classroom and in outside social settings. As a result, he is able to learn and retain his academic lessons much more than in the public district setting.  (more…)

There are not enough words to truly convey the level of gratitude that we have as a family for the services, education and support that our son has received while being at Y.A.L.E. School Mansfield Township campus. Once we arrived, we truly felt that we had all been given a second chance to help our son love school and rebuild his confidence and self-worth.

Y.A.L.E has given him the tools to succeed, and to build on in all aspects of his life. We have changed and grown so much as a family from the consistency, unconditional acceptance and dedication of the team at Y.A.L.E, and we will always be grateful, much more than we could ever say.”

Mike R.

Martial Arts Instructor

“I have had the pleasure of teaching martial arts to students from the Medford and Mansfield Campus since 2004. The teachers and staff are helpful and truly care about the students. We have created a martial arts curriculum that focuses on building character skills like respect, leadership, confidence and teamwork. This is a great opportunity for the students to learn outside of the classroom in a fun and safe learning environment.

Over the years I have seen what Y.A.L.E. School does for these students first hand. They really get to know each student and prepare them for life. It’s great to see the kids grow and mature through the program.

If you are looking for a place for your child I highly recommend Y.A.L.E. School.”

Former student

“I graduated from Y.A.L.E.’s Medford middle school campus. After that, I attended a public high school, where I was in the computer science academy for two years. I am now in my senior year, where I am the Vice President of the Forensics Speech and Debate team and President of the Co-Exist club, as well as a member of the National Honors Society. I just made Honor Roll for the first marking period of this year, and next fall I plan to attend Rutgers University for political science, history, and communications. I really wanted to thank everyone that helped me get ready for this! I would never be in the position I am now without all the help, support, and tough love I received at Y.A.L.E. School. Thank you so much.”

Our son has attended many schools but none has been as productive as Y.A.L.E. He has truly excelled academically, well beyond what he achieved at any of his other schools. The teachers at Y.A.L.E. are dedicated, communicate well with us, and are always readily available for any issues. The faculty at Y.A.L.E. help the children to build social relationships. For the first time our son has “friends” and even a “best friend”.”

Celeste and John H.

We hope that over time, the pioneering work at Y.A.L.E. will inspire even more awareness of diversity and lead to paradigm shifts that encourage more flexible and innovative learning techniques even within mainstream education. By seeing what you are accomplishing, it presents a hopeful picture of what education can be where truly no child is “left behind.””

Without the assistance of the Y.A.L.E. School team and the program they have perfected for children with Asperger’s, our son would not be thriving as he is currently. We are very fortunate to have Y.A.L.E. School available to us.”

Katina B.

Parent

My son was spent most of his school years feeling misunderstood by his peers and in some cases, also by members of his former school’s faculty. He was bullied almost daily. I removed my son from public school to home-school him as a result. This left my son feeling depressed and lonely. As a mother, I felt helpless until I found out about the Y.A.L.E. School Medford campus.

I am ecstatic about the progress my child has made! He actually looks forward to going to school each day. This wouldn’t be possible with the care and support of the Y.A.L.E. School teachers, assistants and counselors.”

Dianne and William M.

Parents

Prior to Y.A.L.E., our son was misunderstood, unsafe due to lack of supervision and was very frustrated in school. He was isolating himself, had very low self-esteem and was regressing intellectually and academically.

In just a few short months at Y.A.L.E. School, he has shown significant improvements both at school and at home. He has made friends that share common interests, he now eats in the cafeteria no longer isolating himself and he likes gym class for the first time ever. He comes home nearly every day sharing what interesting new things he has learned, and most importantly he is HAPPY.”

Mary Lou R.

Parent

The staff has been extremely caring and kind, supportive and informative. They always take the time to explain and answer any questions I may have. I have always been informed on a daily basis of how Shane’s day progressed.

Once the mother of a child who didn’t even want to hear the word school, get on the bus, do the tasks that were asked of him, or do his homework, now I am the mother of a successful student at Y.A.L.E. School.”

Brenda G.

Parent

Y.A.L.E. was like a beacon of hope in the vast storm of our lives.

After spending the last couple of years at this school I know that my son will be able to make his way in this world and I know that he will be ok. He is constantly learning the tools he needs to cope and get along in a world that was once so completely foreign to him. Not to mention my son is never ever threatened or harmed at school any more. This is something that cannot be expressed in words. I will eternally be grateful to this wonderful group of people and excellent school system. They only want to help our children be OK in a world that is not willing to help them most of the time.”

“Our daughter, now age 16, was in public school until the beginning of Grade 7 when she had a very serious episode of OCD/anxiety on top of her existing Asperger’s diagnosis. She spent the remainder of grade 7 getting home schooling from the district and started at Y.A.L.E.’s Medford campus in 8th grade. She was in a very, very fragile state when she began her schooling at Y.A.L.E.. We were extremely concerned about placement for her and looked at many options before selecting the program. From the onset, we felt that all the folks at Y.A.L.E. understood exactly what her needs were and how to help her. Every teacher and assistant she had at Medford was wonderful. She was able to transition into a classroom environment there, only because of the quality support she received.  (more…)

Y.A.L.E. goes above and beyond to attend to the needs of your child. Our son has been at Y.A.L.E. for three years now. Every step of the way we have felt assured and secure in the education our son is getting. Every day there is communication with details of the successes or struggles he has had. Y.A.L.E. allows us to breathe. We aren’t constantly fighting to get him services, or questioning if he is progressing. We truly feel blessed to have the team at Y.A.L.E.; they have completely changed our son. He is so much more amazing for having gone to Y.A.L.E..”

Ethan started out in a preschool program for 3 year olds with disabilities. This is when and where we got the diagnosis all parents dread hearing …autism. He showed improvement in our home district but it became evident that placement outside our district was going to be necessary. I toured several out of district schools but Y.A.L.E. Mullica Twp. immediately felt like a perfect fit for my son. He loves going to school and the staff—I do as well! I know there is no where else I could send him to get the support he needs to learn. The ABA model they use in the classroom has benefited Ethan.  (more…)

In my opinion, Y.A.L.E. School is the best school for children with autism in South Jersey! My son has learned so much since he began attending. Thomas loves going to school at Y.A.L.E. and the staff are truly amazing.”

I am so thankful that we found Y.A.L.E. school. My son is making more progress than ever. The staff is amazing and they truly understand autism and all the challenges that are associated. The overall quality of our lives has improved since my son was enrolled at this school. My son loves this school and so do I!”

I have to honestly say I was nervous when searching for a new private school for my little man. Before I came to see Y.A.L.E I had already visited numerous schools and wasn’t impressed with any of them, it just didn’t seem like the right place for my son. As soon as I walked into the classroom that Elijah would be placed into at Y.A.L.E. School, I instantly knew this was the right place for him. It warmed my heart to see my sons comfort level with his future classmates and staff. The whole program is “Outstanding” I was so impressed with the way they collect detailed data on each child to pinpoint any weaknesses they might have and focus on making them into strengths. I’m so grateful for every last one of them and I have very high hopes for my son’s future in the program because he continues to excel greatly.”

“My son has shown great improvement in self-regulation and coping skills.  Thanks to Y.A.L.E., he has improved academically and he’s happy to do his homework alongside his twin brother. Now he is proud of himself and his accomplishments. I worked with him for over a year trying to teach him to ride a two wheel bike.  Within two months at Y.A.L.E., Corey was riding a bike without training wheels! He refers to his classmates as friends now, which is a very big deal to a parent of a child with autism!  (more…)

“My name is Maria McClure and I am a social worker. I had the wonderful experience of working with Y.A.L.E. School Mullica Township. The program was easy to be reached by phone or in person. The teachers and staff were cooperative and helpful with suggestions. Y.A.L.E. School went above and beyond what they needed to do, in my experience. The entire Y.A.L.E. program was very friendly and welcoming in all of my interactions with them.”

“Everyone at Y.A.L.E. has been amazing. From the minute we first sat down and met with them we knew our son would be in good hands. His teacher and the rest of the staff at Y.A.L.E. School Mullica Twp. have been doing a great job with our son. His language has improved immensely and we can see the growth in his academics through all the work he does during the day. The DAR (Daily Activity Report) has also been a great tool the school uses to track our son’s target behaviors and to give us a greater understanding of how our son is progressing. Y.A.L.E. is everything we hoped for in a school and we could not be any happier.”

Melissa S.

Parent

“Y.A.L.E. School is a school that supersedes township and county schools. The curriculum is focused more on the individual child. The incorporation of  life skills and personal hygiene. Even more impressive is all of the field trips. What puts Y.A.L.E. School above all others though, is the knowledge and dedication of all the teachers and staff. They love all of our kids and it shows in how our children continuously grow. Our children love going to school, it’s the staff that we have to thank for that!”

“My son is 5 years old. He has been attending Y.A.L.E. School for just about a year. In that time, his socializaion and communication skills have increased exponentially. He loves to go to school. I love the daily activity record that comes home everyday. Ir gives a great snapshot into his day. It also allows for communication back and forth. The staff is wonderful with him. They are very supportive and helpful. It is easy to communicate with his teachers and staff. Response is quick from both teachers and staff. I feel they go above and beyond to help to do the best for my son. I am so thankful to have him attend Y.A.L.E. School.”

After our son experienced a terrible time in the local middle school, we heard about Y.A.L.E. from a friend. Nicolas was in the 4th grade. He spent two wonderful years with Mr. James and his staff, learning new behavioral strategies. He returned to the regular school district at the end of 7th grade. Today he is a junior in high school, motivated, and loving school. He would not be where he is today without the support and guidance of Y.A.L.E. School.”

As a family, we feel blessed to have our 9-year-old attend Y.A.L.E. School. It has been such a pleasure. He is much calmer when “homework” time comes—the difference is beyond words. We never truly knew the role that special education could play in his success. Your finely-tailored program addresses his needs and then some. At times, he still needs redirection and those behaviors are met by the Y.A.L.E. School staff with encouragement and positive support. Also, your website offers tons of helpful suggestions for parents’ at-home use. Thank you for being a part of our lives.”

My 14-year-old started struggling in school in fifth grade when he was put on many different medicines. He has had a roller coaster of moods and issues since. His old school was not understanding or helpful. Then he started Y.A.L.E. in eighth grade and it has been great! The staff is wonderful and go above and beyond to help my son stay in school and be successful. They keep me informed of how he is doing at all times and are very patient and understanding. He really likes everyone there and will continue at Y.A.L.E. through high school.”

My child was oppositional and defiant to authority, but the Y.A.L.E. School has taught him that every action has a reaction. The school has helped him learn to be accountable for his actions. From the beginning of the school year until present, he has progressed academically. He is maturing and becoming productively responsible. Thank you, all.”

“Public school did not have the answer for my Elliot, and I did not want my child labeled as a problem child, but rather as a child who needed a little something different in the way his education was delivered to him. He has been at Y.A.L.E. for a year and a half, and the change in understanding of others and his emotional growth is so noticeable. Kudos to the staff at Y.A.L.E. who go through more than the average teacher. They must have great hearts to be willing to do this job to help these children.”

“My son has Asperger’s and started at the Northfield campus in 4th grade. When he started at Y.A.L.E., he was a scared little kid, but now he will be beginning his senior year as a well-mannered, well-rounded, upstanding, intelligent young man. Being at Y.A.L.E. has taught him how to believe in himself and never give up on dreams. He plans to attend Stockton University in conjunction with Rowan University and Cooper Medical School to pursue an accelerated program to become a neurologist. The entire teaching staff have always had his best interests in mind and have done everything they can to help him grow and succeed in school and in life. Thank you to the fine staff in Northfield—we could not have done it without all of you.”

“We are so thankful that Y.A.L.E. exists! Without them, we would have an arduous job just getting through a regular school day. We truly appreciate the over the top techniques that Y.A.L.E. staff utilize to educate our special child. The diligent and dedicated efforts of those at Y.A.L.E. always bring about a positive improvement in behavior. Thank you again and again!”

“I could not have asked for a better school to have my son succeed. I have seen a large change in Jadah since he became a student at Y.A.L.E.. I could not ask for a better team to work with Jadah at difficult times. Before attending Y.A.L.E., he didn’t want to go to school, but now I can’t get him to stay home. I am a proud parent of a student who attends Y.A.L.E. Northfield campus!”

“I coordinate externship experiences for undergraduate students, and the Y.A.L.E. School Northfield program has been extremely rewarding. With each semester that students have completed externships at Y.A.L.E., the feedback is always positive. Students comment on how supportive and nurturing the staff is to Y.A.L.E. students. The Stockton University students have enriching experiences working with children with autism and related disorders.”

“Y.A.L.E School has been a great thing for my family. Once my son was out of his old school it was a major improvement. I also like his current teacher, she has taken the time to really understand my son and to see where I am coming from. Thank you Y.A.L.E School.”

“My son has progressed with Y.A.L.E. School’s help. His grades have improved due to the help of his teacher. Y.A.L.E. allows him to focus on his academics and deal with his behavior. Thank you to the staff for all of their help with my son’s progress with his education and for helping him to deal with life on ‘Life’s Terms’.”

“My grandson has flourished at Y.A.L.E.! There are times when he gets upset but I feel especially this last year that his emotional needs have been met. He is growing into a positive young man and besides the home upbringing, rules and respect that he is expected to live up to, I truly feel the staff at Y.A.L.E. are definitely under appreciated for what they do for and with our children to help mold them into responsible citizens. Kudos to the Y.A.L.E. staff, all of whom are important — some who shine a little brighter for the extra effort. Thank you for allowing your kindness and teaching skills to touch not only my son’s life but our family’s as well.”

“What a great difference I have seen in my son while he’s been attending Y.A.L.E.! The principal and staff are just so awesome and go above and beyond for their students. When my son first began attending Y.A.L.E., he started with a negative attitude. Academics were never his problem, it was his behavior — and with the special care from his teachers he has progressed a lot. I’m so grateful my son has become part of such a great school.”

Parent of a current Y.A.L.E. School Student

“My 12 year old is on his third year at Y.A.L.E. We have experienced three teachers and three classrooms and in those three years there has not been one occasion in which I was not pleased with his care at this school. If a problem or issue arises the fully competent staff address the situation or problem in the kindest and most compassionate way.  I can not say enough about the staff and their continued effort to help my child succeed.”

“I am very happy with my choice to send my son to Y.A.L.E. School in Northfield. There is constant interaction with the school staff about how to help my child be more successful, and if something doesn’t work, they try something else. The school provides an environment his old school district could never provide. His current teacher has a great personality, patience, and sense of humor!”

“Y.A.L.E. School has brought life back to my son and to my family. I am very grateful for the time, the patience, and dedication the staff takes to take a broken vessel and turn it into something almost perfect. I would be remiss if I did not refer another parent that might go through the same struggles I went through. Now, my son is advancing in all areas. He is doing very well in the Standard 9 program and he loves his job!”

Through each stumbling block the staff at Y.A.L.E.’s Standard 9 program never gave up on my son!  I have seen so much growth in the last four years. The Y.A.L.E. staff  found him a internship that he LOVES!  In June this internship will become his job!”

Susan O.

“The Standard 9 Program is exactly what my son with Asperger’s needed after high school.  He has a high IQ but did not have adequate social skills or the perseverance and motivation to complete tasks that were not in his area of interest.  Since attending Y.A.L.E., he has grown in so many ways. He is taking college level courses and completing assignments without behavior outbursts. He is becoming a mature young man and is proud of his weekly job at the Insectatarium in Philly.  Just yesterday, he told me that his job coach has a good level of strictness and she is nice. He also said he is learning to not ask so many questions.  His teacher Mr. Laux understands him and has helped him to focus on his strengths and move forward.  I seriously have hope now and can see my son having a job and being more independent in the future.  He wants to become a support person in the home with people with autism.  The Standard 9 Program is giving him the opportunity and training to help his dreams come true.”

“My daughter attends Y.A.L.E. School in Cherry Hill and has benefited from a school where she is supported by qualified and experienced professionals who know how to address her individual needs. We are grateful for Y.A.L.E. where she has on-site access to a Board Certified Behavior Specialist, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, an Occupational Specialist, a Speech Therapist, and staff that is trained in the vocational and academic areas that are necessary to help a child with special needs thrive in the 21 st Century.”

Y.A.L.E. School recognizes that education and behavioral issues are not a one-way street and that cooperation with parents to resolve any issues or to further reinforce the interventions taking place at home are necessary. I will always recommend Y.A.L.E. to any parent or caregiver of an autistic child.”

Y.A.L.E. School Voorhees has the curriculum and resources necessary to address our child’s level of autism. The energetic teaching staff works endlessly to adjust individualized strategies to maximize the learning environment of each child.”

My son, Jarrett, is in the seventh grade at Y.A.L.E. School In Voorhees. He gets up EVERY morning wanting to go to school, even on the weekends!! I have SO MUCH respect for the staff and give them so much credit for ALL they do for the children. They take them on outings ( e.g. Target, bowling, McDonald’s) so the kids can have some fun and, also learn a few things along the way for when it comes time to be on their own, if possible! I cannot say enough great things about this school. I truly do not know where my son would be without them.”

We continue to be amazed at the progress Olivia has made since starting Y.A.L.E. She has overcome significant challenges and grown academically, socially, and behaviorally.”

“To find that Y.A.L.E. School Voorhees employs two BCBAs is a rarity. All the teachers, aides and direct care staff are trained in ABA principles, which means when my daughter is walking down the hall every person knows exactly how to interact and respond to her even when she is not a member of their own classroom. Having this continuity through the school makes for a better learning environment. All of the staff members have become like family to us. We could not be prouder to call Y.A.L.E. School Voorhees “our home”!”

Elias W.

Parent

My wife and I are very happy that we found Y.A.L.E. and got our son admitted into the program. The staff are very qualified, very professional and focused on the educational and growth needs of the students. We see the progress that our son has made—now he sits and plays board games with us at home and the tantrums he used to have are gone—things we now take for granted. In hindsight, we had feared we would never see him get to this level. Even though he still has quite a few years to go at Y.A.L.E., we are already wishing the program could keep him for longer. Y.A.L.E. is a world of a difference from other programs. We know this, because we took our son from a program that promised much but did not deliver.”

“Y.A.L.E. School Voorhees campus has been a dream come true for our family. Our daughter is being taught what she needs in a supportive and loving environment. The staff is remarkable! They take such good care of my child. When I first visited, the case manager said, “If your home life with your child is not improving while your child is attending Y.A.L.E., then we aren’t doing our job.” They are doing their job!”

Mark Roman

School District CST, Case Manager

“It has been a pleasant experience working as a case manager with the Y.A.L.E. School Voorhees campus. The staff and administration are always friendly and courteous. They provide a positive and welcoming climate for students, families and case managers. The students are well managed and given individual care for their specific needs. I praise the staff for the tremendous effort they place forth for the students and their families.”

“I have been consistently impressed with the adolescent and transition programs at Y.A.L.E. While maintaining a solid commitment to evidence-based intervention, they regularly “push the envelope” to apply best practices in the community, the typical school environment and the work place. This broader definition of ‘educational context’ allows them to develop and implement quality services to adolescents with autism, their families and the communities in which they live.”
