This month Officer Renee Houlihan, community relations officer for the Township of Cherry Hill police department, visited the Y.A.L.E. School Ellisburg campus to meet our students. Officer Houlihan met with Ms. Lynn’s and Ms Saha’s elementary classrooms. Officer Houlihan spoke with the students about all of the things that police officers do in the community. She explained to the children that they should not be afraid of police officers, but should go to them when they need help! She then spent about 20 minutes answering questions from the students. The students asked why she joined the force, what her favorite part of her job is, and whether she had ever been in any dangerous situations. At the end of the visit, Officer Houlihan passed out free CHPD pencils and bookmarks for the students as a gift for welcoming her.
Our thanks to Officer Houlihan for taking the time to visit our newest campus!
