Students on the autism spectrum who work at Y.A.L.E. School’s Green Tech Activity Lab recently proved to be “good eggs” when they collaborated to design, construct and decorate hand-made Easter baskets as part of a fundraiser for Y.A.L.E.’s annual student prom, held at the Voorhees autism campus. The students made “grass” for the baskets by shredding paper, which was then used to line the baskets which they individually hand-painted. The baskets were then filled with Easter candy before being sold and delivered to students and staff at the Y.A.L.E. Audubon campus. The project involved many steps requiring a range of skills and skill levels so every student at GTAL was able to participate. Proceeds of the fundraiser will go towards the Y.A.L.E. School Prom social event for students from our autism campuses.
