On April 25th the students at the Y.A.L.E. School Medford campus enjoyed magician and motivational speaker Ken Northridge.
Northridge brought his message of character education and conflict resolution to Y.A.L.E. students at the Kirby’s Mill school in Medford during a recent assembly presentation.
For Y.A.L.E.’ s middle school students, Northridge used sleight of hand (and an occasional bunny) to emphasize six pillars of character education: respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, caring, fairness, and citizenship. For younger students, he presented a motivational program entitled “The Magic of Reading,” bringing to life such literary favorites as the Ugly Duckling and the Velveteen Rabbit.
“Students were engaged and loved the hands-on nature of the program,” said Fred Gruber, campus supervisor. “The positive messages and the unexpected ways in which they were presented really resonated with our students,” Gruber added.
All students had a great time! Visit Ken’s website at www.kennorthridge.com for more information.
