Dr. Rachael Sautter Ph.D., BCBA-D, supervisor of The Y.A.L.E. School’s Voorhees campus is scheduled to appear at this year’s FACES 4 Autism Conference on March 13th at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Galloway.
Dr. Sautter will present a special afternoon workshop called “Assessing and Treating Ritualistic and Stereotypic Behavior for Children with a Diagnosis of Autism: Using ABA to Teach Children to be Adaptive in an Overwhelming and Unpredictable Environment.”
Also attending the conference will be Y.A.L.E. School Assistant Director and school psychologist Glenn Martins, who will be manning the Y.A.L.E. School’s table in the conference exhibitor’s hall. Attendees are encouraged to stop by to say hello and learn more about the Y.A.L.E. School’s specialized educational programs.
The conference opens with keynote presenter Dr. Jed Baker, Ph.D. director of the Social Skills Training Project and author of Preparing for Life: The Complete Guide for Transitioning to Adulthood for Those with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, among other books.
The 2014 FACES 4 Autism Conference at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey begins with 8:00 AM registration and runs until 3:30 PM on Thursday, March 13th.
This conference is appropriate for students and all those working with them to create plans to transition to adult life. Practical information on addressing behaviors, social skills, communication skills, education programs, applying for college, vocational training, residential programs, and financial assistance is provided along with guidelines for helping students understand their strengths and challenges so they can advocate for themselves. Self-advocates, for parents, teachers, SLPs, OTs, PTs, social workers, psychologists, autism specialists, BCBAs, teachers aides and others are invited to attend.
Faces 4 Autism is a non-profit organization whose mission is to serve by offering family support throughout the lifespan, creating awareness, & developing education programs and services for educators and families facing Autism Spectrum Disorder in the South Jersey region.
